employee survey team
General Overview
Our online and mail employee survey system provides employers with diagnostic scoring to gain a clearer picture of employee attitudes and help pinpoint key issues and concerns that human resource managers may need to address. As a first step in the process, we carefully design a survey questionnaire that is tailored to each client's specific project goals. Next, our professional staff provides expert administration of the entire data collection process to maximize response rates and the quality of employee feedback. Lastly, we can deliver all different levels of reporting based on a client's budget and needs. Reporting options include tabulations and top-line reports, creation and application of internal benchmarks, comparison with normative scores from similar industry group results, and breakdowns by different sub-groups of the employee population.

Normative scoring is based on the Job Descriptive Index and Job in General Scale, the gold standards in normative scoring for employee job satisfaction surveys. Our measurement system was developed as a collaboration between Amplitude Research® and the industrial/organizational program at Bowling Green State University (BGSU). The faculty members who co-lead BGSU's doctoral program in the industrial/organizational psychology department were ranked third in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.

Development and Updates of the Scoring Indexes
BGSU began development of the Job Descriptive Index (JDI) in 1942 led by the efforts of Dr. Patricia Cain Smith. Her development of the JDI and Behaviorally Anchored Rating Scales (BARS) are recognized as landmark contributions to the improvement of applied research and practice. BGSU is active in its efforts to research, refine, develop, and norm the instruments and develop other organizationally relevant measures.
The JDI and JIG underwent a comprehensive review and update in January 2009. This resulted in minor changes in some of the questions comprising the indexes, update of the nationwide norms, and the creation of completely new industry group and demographic norms. The industry group norms are exclusive to Amplitude Research.
